Christina and Eric started a Radon Awareness Program (RAP) to stress the importance of testing for it in our homes and reduce radon. They were inspired when they participated in a poster contest and realized that most people have no idea about radon and its harmful effects. When not in class, they have been scientists, reporters, graphic artists, rap artists and political advocates taking their radon awareness message across Jefferson County and to the steps of the State Capitol. Christina and Eric were awarded Public Health Champions in Jefferson County in 2011. They are proud recipients of the Gloria Barron Prize for Young Heroes in 2011 and The Presidential Environmental Youth Service Award in 2012. Below is a gallery of their efforts.
